Thomas W. Lucas, Jr. , 35 of Plano, Texas was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison following his conviction on 7 counts of wire fraud and one count of making a false statement to the FBI. FBI Press Release.
Lucas operated a scheme from 2006-2010 that defrauded 280 investors out of over $20 million. Investors were led to believe that Lucas had inside information regarding a Walt Disney resort and theme park planned for North Texas.
In addition, Lucas was ordered to pay over $8 million in restitution.
