Kelly G. Richards-FIrst Allied Securities Broker-Discloses Pending Customer Dispute-Phoenix, AZ

The FINRA records of  Kelly Gene Richards ,  a  stockbroker who is currently  employed by  First Allied Securities, disclose a  currently pending customer dispute and a prior termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In FINRA case #16-01743 a customer of Capital Investment Group seeks damages of $650,000  misrepresentation in connection with membership units in certain investments promoted by Richards.

Richards has been registered with First Allied Securities since 4/2015. His prior employment includes Raymond JamesCapital Investment Group and Chase Investment Services. Richards discloses a business affiliation with RG Capital .

Demitrios Hallas-Former PHX Financial Broker-Named in SEC Complaint-

April 2017- New York

The FINRA records of  Demitrios Hallas ,  a  former PHX Financial stockbroker who is currently not registered disclose two final regulatory events, 2 prior customer disputes and a termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

Hallas was recently named in an SEC Complaint alleging that he purchased and sold daily leveraged Exchange Traded Funds and Notes (ETFs and ETNs) knowingly or recklessly disregarding that the products were unsuitable for his customers. In addition the SEC alleges that Hallas misappropriated over $170,000 from one customer. Link to SEC complaint. 

Hallas was suspended by FINRA in April 2016 for failing to respond to a request for information.

In February 2012 Halllas was discharged by Chase Investment Services Corp. who made the following allegation in connection with the termination: “Job performance, including customer complaints alleging unauthorized trades and failure to disclose fees”

Hallas’ prior employment includes PHX Financial, Forefront Capital Markets, Santander Securities, Aegis Capital Corp., Chase Investment Services and PNC Investments.

James E. Mahan-Former Raymond James Broker-Sanctioned by Securities Regulator

The FINRA records of  James E. Mahan,  a  former stockbroker who most recently worked for Raymond James Financial Services  disclose a recent regulatory matter resulting in his permanent bar from the industry.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In August 2016, Mahan, without admitting or denying the findings, consented to a permanent bar from the securities industry and entry of findings that he refused to appear for on the record testimony requested by FINRA related to an internal review for recommending an unapproved outside investment to a client of the firm. FINRA Case 2015047115101.

Mahan was registered with Raymond James Financial Services from 5/2015-7/2016. Prior to that he was registered with J.P Morgan , Merrill Lynch and Chase Investments Services. Mahan was also affiliated with South Texas Capital Advisors.

Marco Mendoza- San Antonio Broker (J.P. Morgan) Barred From Securities Industry

January 11, 2016- San Antonio, Texas

Marco A. Mendoza , formerly a broker with J.P. Morgan Securities was permanently barred from the securities industry, for failing to respond to FINRA request for information.  according to FINRA records. Case # 2015044931401.

Mendoza was discharged from J P Morgan in March 2015On the official FINRA report, the company stated that Mendoza used correction fluid on a bank related document completed by a bank customer in violation of company policy.

Mendoza was registered with J.P. Morgan Securities from 10/2012-3/2015. Prior to that he was registered with Chase Investment Services.

Richard Ohrn-Boca Raton Broker Sanctioned by Securities Regulators for Converting Customer Funds

April 28, 2015-Boca Raton, FL

Richard Winsor Ohrn ,  was named in an Order Accepting Offer of Settlement (Order) with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to resolve allegations that  while he was registered with Chase Investment Services he converted over $15,000 from two of his elderly customers. In addition, the findings state that Ohrn forged the signatures of four customers on firm documents.

Ohrn  was barred from associating with any FINRA member in any capacity.

According to FINRA records , after leaving Chase Investment Services, Ohrn was registered with Wells Fargo, LLC.

Florida Stockbroker Lost While Fishing at Sea Staged Disappearance

April 13, 2015- Boca Raton, FL

The Sun Sentinel reports that Richard Ohrn, 44, a former local stock broker who disappeared while fishing in the Atlantic ocean a few weeks back, has admitted that he staged his disappearance by abandoning the boat and driving to Albany, Georgia.

According to the article Ohrn was trying to escape legal issues, including a suit by a former employer alleging that he stole from customer accounts and a civil action accusing him and his wife of misusing funds raised for a home-investing business.

FINRA records indicate that he was named in a FINRA complaint in December 2014 alleging that he converted $15,250 from two elderly clients by forging signatures. That matter is still pending.

According to FINRA records, Ohrn, who is not currently registered, was previously registered with Wells Fargo Advisors 6/2011-8/2012. Prior to that he was registered with Chase Investment Services 7/2009-6/2011.

Kamran Nougzust -Boynton Beach- Wells Fargo Stock Broker Barred From Industry

March 5, 2015-Boynton Beach, FL

Kamran Daryush Nougzust   entered into a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent  (AWC) with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to resolve allegations that  Nougzust failed to provide information in connection with a  FINRA investigation that he improperly obtained about $99,500 from a bank trust account. By failing to provide the documents and information, Nougzust violated FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010

Nougzust was barred from the securities industry.

According to FINRA records, Nougzust was registered with Wells Fargo Advisors from 10/2013-11/2014. Prior to that he was registered with J.P. Morgan Securities and Chase Investment Services.
