Thomas Bodensteiner-Former VSR Financial Services Broker-Subject of Customer Suit Over Losses in UDF IV-Clear Lake, IA

The FINRA records of  Thomas W. Bodensteiner ,  a  stockbroker who was previously  employed by  VSR Financial Services  discloses a pending customer dispute .

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

 

In FINRA arbitration #17-0314 a customer of VSR Financial Services alleges unsuitability, negligence and misrepresentation in connection with investments in real estate securities and United Development Funding IV (UDF IV). Damages sought are $50,000.

Bodensteiner was employed by VSR Financial Services from 10/2001-9/2016. He is currently employed by Summit Brokerage Services.

Kenneth Devane – Former VSR Financial Services Broker- Discloses Customer Dispute – Tampa, FL

The FINRA records of  Kenneth Manuel Devane  a  currently unregistered stockbroker who was formerly  employed by  VSR Financial Services  discloses settlement of a  customer dispute involving alternative investments.

In FINRA case 12-04161, a customer of VSR Financial Services alleged misrepresentation, unsuitable investments, violation of Florida Securities and Investor Protection Act, breach of fiduciary duty, violation of FINRA conduct rules and negligence in connection with  investments in real estate securities. That case was settled for $36,000.

Devane was employed by VSR Financial Services from November 2001 until December 2014.  He was employed by Ameriprise Financial Services until 8/2015.

Jay A. Wallinger-Former VSR Financial Services Broker-Discloses Customer Suit Over Equipment Leasing Investment-Stuart, Nebraska

The FINRA records of  Jay Alan Wallinger ,  a  stockbroker who was formerly  employed by  VSR Financial Services  disclose the recent settlement of a customer dispute involving an alleged overconcentration of unsuitable investments.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In FINRA Case 16-03696, a customer of VSR Financial Services brought a claim over equipment leasing investments. The amount of damages sought was not stated but the customer alleged that the concentration level of this type of investment was too high and unsuitable, given the customer’s investment objectives and risk tolerance.

FINRA records indicate that the customer was paid $330,000 to resolve the case in January 2018.

Wallinger was employed by VSR FInancial Services from 9/1993-9/2016. He is currently employed by Summit Brokerage Services and discloses a business affiliation with Wallinger Financial Services LLC.

Frank Scarito-Former VSR Financial Services Broker-Discloses Settlement of Customer Dispute-Manchester, NH

The FINRA records of  Frank Charles Scarito ,  a  stockbroker who is currently  employed by  Berthel, Fisher & Co.  a prior final customer dispute.

That case was settled for $65,000.

Scarito has been employed by Berthel Fisher & CO.  since 7/2016. Prior to that he was employed by VSR Financial Services from 7/2002-7/2016.

In currently pending FINRA Case 16-01088, a customer of VSR Financial Services alleges damages of between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 for unsuitable recommendations, violation of common law fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and negligence for account activity between 3/2001-6/2010. The investments at issue are direct investments, &  limited partnership interests in oil and gas and real estate securities.

Kaup was employed by VSR FInancial Services from 10/1989-9/2016. He is currently employed by Summit Brokerage Services and discloses a business affiliation with Kaup’s Financial Advisors, Inc.
