Robert P. Solow- Former Trident Partners Broker-Discloses Pending Customer Suit- Melville, NY

According to publicly available records Robert Paul Solow   (CRD# 4532161) ,  a  stockbroker who is not not registered and who last worked for Joseph Gunnar & Co. ,   disclose a pending customer dispute.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In March of 2018,   FINRA case #18-001954 was filed by a  customer of Trident Partners, alleging unsuitable transactions and seeking damages of $370,486.   That case is still pending.

Robert Solow  was employed with Joseph Gunnar & Co  from October 2016 until December  2017.  He was with Aegis Capital Corp.  from December 2015 until March of 2016.   Before that time he was with Worden Capital Management, J.D. Nicholas & Associates, Rockwell Global Capital and Trident Partners, LTD.

Michael Venturino-Former Aegis Capital/Trident Partners Broker-Subject of $1.2M Customer Suit-Garden City, NY

According to publicly available records Michael Christopher Venturino ,  a  stockbroker who is currently employed by Spartan Capital Securities and was formerly employed by Aegis Capital Corp. and Trident Partners, disclose a prior regulatory event, 3 pending customer disputes, 4 prior customer disputes and a recent Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing.

In July 2018 Venturino was suspended indefinitely by FINRA for failure to comply with an arbitration award or settlement agreement or to satisfactorily respond to a FINRA request to provide information concerning the status of compliance.

In 11/2017 a former customer from his prior firm, Aegis Capital was paid $16,500 to resolve allegations that Venturino traded the account without permission from 11/2016-6/2017.

In 6/2017 a customer of Aegis Capital was paid $142,500 to resolve allegations that Venturino excessively traded the account and traded it without permission from 6/2014-1/2016.

The currently pending suits, by customers of Aegis Capital ,include:

  • FINRA Case 18-2948- alleges that Venturino churned their account and made unsuitable trades and seeks damages of $290,359
  • FINRA Case 18-408-alleges unauthorized trading by Venturino and unsuitable recommendations and seeks damages of $1,280,623.

Venturino discloses that he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1/2019 in the Federal Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Venturino has been employed by Spartan Capital since 4/2018.

Timothy Longo-Former Trident Partners Broker-Subject of Customer Suits-Hauppauge, NY

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

According to FINRA recordsTimothy V. Longo has been registered with American Capital Partners  since 8/2015. Prior to that he was registered with Trident Partners, Ltd. from 1/2006-8/2015.

FINRA records disclose that Longo is currently named in two customer disputes and there have been 7 prior customer disputes that have been resolved. Several of the disputes  involve exchange traded note sales to customers while he was registered with Trident Partners. In those cases the customers allege that the sale of the exchange traded notes was unsuitable in regards to the customer’s risk tolerance and investment objectives.

In 2006 the New York Stock Exchange sanctioned Longo with a censure and a 4 month suspension to resolve allegations that he engaged in conduct inconsistent with just and equitable principles of trade.

Prior customer disputes that have been resolved include:

  • FINRA Case 17-1370 a customer of Trident Partners/American Capital alleged that unsuitable trades were made in his account and sought damages of $150,000. The case was settled for $43,000.
  • In 9/2013 a customer of Trident Partners alleged poor performance from July 2011-2013 and sought damages of $100,000. The case settled for $70,000.

In a currently pending matter a customer of Trident Partners alleges unauthorized trading in VXX Exchange Traded Notes, an investment the customer alleges was unsuitable in light of the customer’s investment objectives and risk tolerance. Damages of $34,405 are sought.
