Roger Kroeger-Former Invest Financial Broker-Discloses Criminal Suit & Termination-Ft. Lauderdale, FL

According to publicly available records Roger Kroeger, (CRD# 1526864) ,  a  previously registered stockbroker who was last employed by Invest Financial Corporation, disclose a regulatory event, a pending criminal charge, a prior customer dispute and a termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In September of 2018, Kroeger consented to a sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to appear for FINRA on-the-record testimony in connection with a FINRA investigation.   Kroeger violated FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010 and was barred from the securities industry.

In a pending criminal matter, Case17013278CF10A, Circuit Court in Broward County, FL , Kroeger is charged with 1 felony count of obtaining property of over $50,000 by fraud, one felony count of exploitation of elderly in the amount of $100,000 or more, three felony counts of  fraud -utter false instrument, two felony counts of grand theft first degree greater than $100,000, one felony count of grand theft greater than $20,000 and less than $100,000 and two felony counts of fraud-money launder trans $100,000 or more.  Kroeger  has pleaded not guilty to all charges and the matter is currently pending.

In December of 2017, a customer of Invest Financial Corporation alleged Kroeger misappropriated cash funds from the customer account. That case was settled in 4/2018 for $206,084.

Kroeger began working  for Invest Financial Corporation in 1990 and was discharged in 11/2017. Invest Financial makes the following allegation on Kroeger’s FINRA record: “Representative admitted to facilitating a loan to his sister from a senior client and was subsequently chard with multiple felony offenses in connection with these circumstances”.

William D. Byrd-Former Transamerica Broker-Discloses Customer Disputes-Tampa, FL

The FINRA records of  William D. Byrd ,  a  stockbroker who is currently registered with Capital Financial Services disclose a pending customer dispute and 3 prior final customer disputes.

In currently pending FINRA arbitration 17-0149 a customer of Capital Financial Services is seeking damages of $100,000 and alleges unsuitable investments ignoring changing circumstances and misrepresentations.

In one of the  prior matters, FINRA Case 15-0961 , a customer of Transamerica Financial Advisors  alleged damages of $86,400  for unsuitable recommendations. That case settled in 8/2016 for $83,500.

Byrd  has been registered with Capital Financial Services since 9/2016. He was previously with Invest Financial and Transamerica FInancial.

David L. Hannett Sr.-Invest Financial Broker-Discloses $5M Customer Dispute

According to FINRA records,  David L. Hannett, Sr.  a stockbroker  who works  for Invest Financial Corp. discloses  a pending customer dispute .

Hannett discloses  currently pending FINRA Case 15-0023, in which a customer alleges damages of $5,000,000  for mishandling assets.

Hannett also discloses a prior customer dispute that has been resolved. In 2012 a customer alleged damages of $60,000 for unsuitable investment recommendations. That matter was settled for $60,000.

Hannett has been employed by Invest Financial Corp.  since 1991.

William L. Baumner of Buckman, Buckman & Reid Discloses Customer Dispute/Outstanding Liens-Boca Raton, FL

According to FINRA records,  William L. Baumner, IV ,   a previously registered stockbroker who last worked for Buckman, Buckman & Reid   discloses  3 currently pending customer disputes. In addition he discloses 7 prior finalized customer disputes and 5 pending judgment/liens.

A customer  while Baumner was employed at Invest Financial Corp. has filed a complaint in Palm Beach County Circuit Court alleging misrepresentation of material facts, insider trading and fraud. No specific amount of damages is alleged. Case # 502010CA017971.

Baumner discloses five outstanding liens in favor of the IRS ranging from $5,825 to over one million.

Baumner was employed by Buckman, Buckman & Reid from 3/2010-5/2017.

Stockbroker Leavitt Sanders has 53 Customer Complaints- Invest Financial Corporation/ Triad -West Point, Georgia

We are investigating Leavitt F. Sanders,  of Leavitt Financial Group, who was a registered stockbroker with the following broker dealers. He is not currently registered as a broker:

  • Capital Asset Advisory Services                   1/2014- present
  • Triad Advisors                                                        1/2014-12/2014
  • Invest Financial Corporation                       10/2008-1/2014
  • Financial Network Investment Co.               11/1998-10/2008

Sanders was discharged by Triad in 12/2014 for mismanagement of RIA related accounts.

According to FINRA records, Sanders has been the subject of 53 customer disputes, of which 2 are still pending. Over $2 million has been paid to resolve these customer suits.

Sander’s former customers have made numerous allegations regarding the mishandling of their brokerage accounts, including:

  • unsuitable investment strategies
  • misrepresentation
  • breach of fiduciary duty
  • lack of diversification
  • excessive trading
  • unauthorized trading
  • failure to follow liquidation instructions

In March 2015, the Georgia Secretary of State suspended Sanders pending his agreement to produce documents and records for inspection in connection with an official records examination.
