Richard Havard-Former Invest Financial Broker-Sanctioned by Texas Regulator-Prosper, Texas

The FINRA records of Richard L. Havard ,  a  stockbroker who previously worked for Invest Financial Corp. , disclose 6 pending liens filed by the Internal Revenue Service in Collin County, Texas. The liens are for delinquent income taxes and date back to 2010.

In December 2017, the Texas State Securities Board (TSSB) entered a Disciplinary Order reprimanding and fining Havard $7,500 for failing to update his FINRA record to disclose the IRS liens in a timely manner in violation of TSSB rules.

Christopher Jansen – Broker Currently Registered with Newbridge Securities- Discloses Four Customer Disputes and Two Terminations – Princeton, NJ

The FINRA records of  Christopher C. Jansen ,  a  stockbroker who is currently registered with Newbridge Securities disclose a pending customer dispute,  3 prior customer disputes and two terminations from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

While employed by Emmett A. Larkin Co. , a customer was awarded $59,056 in NASD arbitration 2-3827. The customer alleged unauthorized trading and failure to follow instructions.

While Jansen was employed with Essex National Securities,  two customer disputes were brought alleging misrepresentation of annuities.    Both cases were settled for small amounts.

In a currently pending  matter a customer of Invest Financial Corporation,  alleges misrepresentation in the sale of a variable annuity and seeks damages of over $17,000.

In 12/2016, Jansen was discharged by Invest Financial Corporation who alleged “misrepresentation of features and guarantees associated with annuities”.

In 5/2001 Jansen voluntarily resigned from Wall Street Financial.

Jansen has been employed by Newbridge Securities  since 4/2017.  He was with Invest Financial Corporation  from 10/2015-1/2017, and with Essex National Securities 7/2-13-10/2015. Prior employment includes Regal Securities, PNC Investments and Garden State Securities.

In currently pending FINRA arbitration 17-0149 a customer of Capital Financial Services is seeking damages of $100,000 and alleges unsuitable investments ignoring changing circumstances and misrepresentations.

In one of the  prior matters, FINRA Case 15-0961 , a customer of Transamerica Financial Advisors  alleged damages of $86,400  for unsuitable recommendations. That case settled in 8/2016 for $83,500.

Byrd  has been registered with Capital Financial Services since 9/2016. He was previously with Invest Financial and Transamerica FInancial.

Clyde D. Jones-Titan Securities Broker-Discloses Customer Disputes Over Viatical Settlements-Whitesboro, Texas

The FINRA records of  Clyde D. Jones ,  a   stockbroker who is currently registered with Titan Securities disclose 2 pending customer disputes, 2  prior final customer disputes involving viatical settlements and 2 terminations from employment.

In FINRA case #15-02868 a customer of Titan Securities alleged damages of $425,649 for an unsuitable recommendation to invest in a viatical settlement. That case was settled in 12/2016 for $100,000.

In FINRA case#15-2480 a customer of Titan Securities alleged damages of $133,680 for misrepresentation and unsuitability in connection with an investment in a viatical settlement. That case was settled in 8/2016 for $135,768.

Jones  discloses two currently pending customer disputes involving viatical settlements. One alleges damages of $100,001 and another alleging damages of $108,672.

Viatical Settlement

A viatical settlement is a contract whereby a person diagnosed with a terminal illness sells their life insurance policy for less than its face value in order to obtain a portion of the proceeds while still alive. The buyer (investor) obtains the full value of the policy upon the death of the insured.

Jones has been employed by Titan Securities since 9/2015. From 1/2013-11/2014 he was with EDI Financial. Prior to that he was with Titan Securities from 8/2008-12/2012. In 8/2008 he was discharged from Eagle One Investments for failing to notify compliance about a customer complaint. In 4/2000 he was permitted to resign from Invest Financial Corp.

David L. Hannett Sr.-Invest Financial Broker-Discloses $5M Customer Dispute

According to FINRA records,  David L. Hannett, Sr.  a stockbroker  who works  for Invest Financial Corp. discloses  a pending customer dispute .

Hannett discloses  currently pending FINRA Case 15-0023, in which a customer alleges damages of $5,000,000  for mishandling assets.

Hannett also discloses a prior customer dispute that has been resolved. In 2012 a customer alleged damages of $60,000 for unsuitable investment recommendations. That matter was settled for $60,000.

Hannett has been employed by Invest Financial Corp.  since 1991.

Baumner discloses five outstanding liens in favor of the IRS ranging from $5,825 to over one million.

Baumner has been employed by Buckman, Buckman & Reid since 3/2010.

We are investigating Leavitt F. Sanders,  of Leavitt Financial Group, who was a registered stockbroker with the following broker dealers:

  • Financial Network Investment Co.               11/1998-10/2008

According to FINRA records, Sanders has been named in 38 customer disputes, of which 13 are still pending.

In these prior and pending customer disputes, Sander’s former customers have made numerous allegations regarding the mishandling of their brokerage accounts, including:

  • unsuitable investment strategies
  • misrepresentation
  • breach of fiduciary duty
  • lack of diversification
  • excessive trading
  • unauthorized trading
  • failure to follow liquidation instructions

In March 2015, the Georgia Secretary of State suspended Sanders pending his agreement to produce documents and records for inspection in connection with an official records examination.
