Maximillian Santos-Former National Securities Corp Broker-Discloses Pending Regulatory Matter

The FINRA records of Maximillian Santos  , a stock broker who most recently worked for Blackbook Capital, LLC  , disclose  a currently pending regulatory matter, a prior final regulatory event and a termination from employment.

According to FINRA records Blackbook Capital was expelled by FINRA in June 2016.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In a currently pending FINRA Case # 2014041546501, FINRA alleges that Santos withdrew nearly $200,000 from his personal bank account in transactions which were structured for the purpose of causing the bank to fail to file a Currency Transaction Report (CTR) reporting a receipt of currency in excess of $10,000.

In June 2014, Santos was discharged by Oppenheimer & Co, , who made the following allegation: :”during the course of a regulatory inquiry, it was determined that Mr. Santos was sharing confidential client information with a third party and utilizing a non-Oppenheimer email address“.

In February 2016, Santos entered into a Offer of Settlement with the SEC to resolve allegations that he shared client information with third parties and used a personal email address. He was fined $75,000 and suspended for six months.

Prior to working for Blackbook Capital, Santos was employed by National Securities Corporation and before that Oppenheimer & Co. He is not currently registered.

Jason M. Santini Named in Customer Arbitration-Blackbook Capital, LLC. Broker

APRIL 2017 UPDATE-In November 2016 a customer of Spartan Capital filed FINRA arbitration 16-3109 alleging damages of $27,376 for overconcentration, unauthorized use of margin and negligence.

According to FINRA records,  Jason M. Santini, has been registered with Spartan Capital Securities since 4/2015. Prior to that he was registered with Martinez-Ayme Securities (firm expelled by FINRA 6/2015), and prior to that he was registered with Blackbook Capital, LLC. From 8/2010-12/2012 he was registered with J.D. Nicholas & Associates. 

FINRA records disclose that there is currently a customer dispute pending against Jason M. Santini:

  • FINRA Case 15-00994- a customer while Mr. Santini was registered with Blackbook Capital alleges fraud, negligent misrepresentation and breach of fiduciary duty in connection with his account. Damages are alleged to be $250,000.

Marlon Cole Named in Customer Arbitration Dispute-Legend Securities Broker

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

According to FINRA records,  Marlon O. Cole has been registered with Spartan Capital Securities since 2/2016. Prior to that he was registered with Avenir Financial Group, Blackbook Capital, E.J. Sterling, LLC, Legend Securities and Liberty Partners Financial. 

FINRA records disclose that there are currently two customer disputes pending against  Marlon O. Cole, including:

  • FINRA Case 15-00994- a customer alleges that Mr. Cole wasted over $80,000 of his savings without his permission and did not abide by agreement to pull funds off the market and send back to his credit union if stock dropped 10%. Damages alleged are $250,000.

Thomas Tedeschi-Former Aegis Capital Broker-Named in Customer Dispute

UPDATE APRIL 2017-In October 2016 Thomas Tedeschi was suspended for a week for failing to comply with an arbitration award or settlement agreement or to satisfactorily respond to a FINRA request to provide information concerning the status of compliance.

FINRA records are public and can be accessed on the BrokerCheck website. 

The FINRA records of Thomas J. Tedeschi report that he settled claim brought by a customer of Aegis Capital Corp. in 2015 who alleged damages of $117,102 for unauthorized purchases . The case settled for $60,000.

FINRA records indicate that Tedeschi has been registered with Joseph Stone Capital since 8/2014. Prior to that he was registered with Blackbook Capital 6/2014-9/2014 and with Aegis Capital Corp 7/2011-5/2014.

Vincent Pereira- Private Placement Customer Complaints Settled

According to FINRA records, stockbroker Vincent Louis Pereira currently is employed by Alexander Capital, where he has been registered since 2/2015. His previous registrations include:

  • Blackbook Capital                       11/2014-2/2015
  • Source Capital Group                 6/2014-11/2014
  • John Carris Investments           2/2014-6/2014
  • Rockwell Global Capital            10/2011-2/2014
  • Rockwell Global Capital            12/2008-3/2011

In 3/2014, Pereira pled guilty to  misdemeanor petit larceny from a store in the criminal court of the City of New York and was sentenced to 1 day of community service.

Pereira has settled five customer disputes, including:

FINRA Case 11-3539– customer alleged that while Pereira was employed by Rockwell Global Capital, Pereira failed to perform due diligence and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with a $100,000 private placement investment. The case was settled for $35,000.

FINRA Case 11-3373-customer alleged that while he was employed by Rockwell Global Capital, Pereira failed to perform due diligence and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with a $150,000 private placement investment. The case was settled for $40,000.

FINRA Case 11-3003-customer alleged that while he was employed by Rockwell Global Capital, Pereira made false statements, was negligent and breached his contract duty in connection with a $300,000 private placement investment. The case was settled for $150,000.

FINRA Case 11-3586-customer alleged that while he was employed by Rockwell Global Capital, Pereira failed to perform due diligence and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with a $50,000 private placement investment. The case was settled for $20,000.

FINRA records report seven outstanding judgments and liens, including an Internal Revenue Service lien of $25,817. See FINRA report for full details.

Former Garden State Securities Broker Darnell Deans Sanctioned by FINRA

UPDATE October 12, 2015Darnell Deans entered into an Order Accepting Offer of Settlement with FINRA (case# 2012030677101) agreeing to the following sanctions:

  • suspended from association with any FINRA member in any and all capacities for eight months
  • a fine of $10,000
  • required to requalify by examination as a General Securities Representative prior to association with any member firm in that capacity.

February 6, 2015

Darnell A. Deans was named in a disciplinary proceeding filed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) alleging that he failed to disclose federal tax liens of over $250,000 on FINRA regulatory filings. The proceeding also alleges that Deans , while associated with Garden State Securities,  borrowed $266,000 from customers of the firm without seeking or obtaining the firm’s approval. Disciplinary proceeding 2012030677101. 

FINRA records indicate that Deans was registered with Garden State Securities from 1/2005-11/2013. He was registered with John Carris Investments 1/2014-6/2014 and is currently registered with Blackbook Capital LLC.
