Dennis Thurman Investigation

According to publicly available records Dennis Thurman, a broker who works for Arete Wealth Management, discloses a pending customer dispute involving GWG L-Bonds.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In FINRA case # 22-02353, an Arete Wealth Management customer alleges that Thurman made unsuitable investment recommendations to purchase GWG L-Bonds resulting in damages of between $100,000 to $500,000. This case is currently pending.
Thurman has been employed with Arete Wealth Management/Arete Wealth Advisors since 1/2016. Before that time he was with First Allied Advisory Services/First Allied Securities.
