The FINRA records of William Huthnance, a UBS Financial Services broker, discloses 2 past customer disputes and 2 customer disputes.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In 4/2020, FINRA case#20-01305 alleged unsuitability and misrepresentation with respect to recommendations to invest in and hold an options overlay strategy, hedge funds, structured notes and private equity funds.   The case settled for $580,000.

In 9/2019, FIRNA case #19-02667, alleged unsuitability and misrepresentation in respect to recommendations. The case settled for $305,000.

In 2/2022, three FINRA cases were filed by UBS Financial Services customers alleging unsuitability and misrepresentation with respect to recommendations, alleged damages in each case were as follows:

  1. FINRA case #22-00402- $500,000-improper options overlay strategy
  2. FINRA case #22-00305 – $500,000-$1,000,000-improper options overlay strategy
  3. FINRA case #22-00278 – $300,000-improper options overlay strategy

All three cases are still pending.

Huthnance has been employed with UBS Financial Services, Inc., since 11/2015.   Before that he was with Credit Suisse Securities from 1/2009- 11/2015/
