The FINRA records of Anthony Joseph Manougian, an Oppenheimer & Co. broker, disclose a pending suit by a former customer seeking damages of $3.5 million.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In 6/2022, FINRA case #22-1264 was filed by an Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. customer alleging claims for theft and conversion of assets by Manougian from a trust account beginning in 2010. The customer also alleges breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, unjust enrichment, churning and unauthorized trading in this currently pending matter.
Manougian has been employed with Oppenheimer Co. Inc. since 12/2012.
