Jon Scheier Investigation

July 2022-Denison , TX

According to publicly available records Jon Scheier , a former broker who last worked for Edward Jones,  discloses a final regulatory matter resulting in a permanent bar from the industry,  a prior customer dispute and a termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In 2/2021 FINRA permanently barred Scheier from the industry to resolve allegations that Scheier failed to respond to FINRA requests for information in regards to a FINRA investigation.

In 9/2020, an Edward Jones customer alleged that Scheier inserted his name as payee on the customer’s check, endorsed it and stole her money.   Customer also alleged that Scheier fraudulently represented that he would use the funds to pay the customer’s health care providers.   The case settled in 12/2020 for $37,500.

Scheier was discharged from his employment with Edward Jones in 1/2020,  after  he conceded that he deposited a check from a customer’s outside bank account into his own outside bank account and that he used some of those funds to pay for his own personal debts.  Scheier had been with Edward Jones since 11/2009.
