Anthony Frank Prieto

Investigation

June 2022-Tampa, FL

According to publicly available records Anthony Frank Prieto, a currently unregistered broker who last worked for  Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.,  discloses a pending United States Securities and Exchange Commission suit.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In May 2022, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission  (SEC) filed case#6:22-cv-00820 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Orlando, against Jason Lazarus, Anthony F. Prieto, Jr. , Synergy Settlement Services, Foundation for Those with Special Needs and Special Needs Law Firm alleging the fraudulent operation of two purportedly charitable pooled investment trusts with $46 million in assets and more than 380 trust members, most of whom are disabled recipients of Medicaid or Social Security Supplemental Income.

According to the SEC complaint, these trusts violated the antifraud and registration provisions of the federal securities laws in many ways and that the defendants managed beneficiaries’ accounts to reimburse themselves for employee salaries and other expenses.  The SEC seeks penalties, disgorgement and an injunction.

Anthony Prieto was with Royal Alliance Associates from 11/2-18 to 7/2019. Prior to that he was registered with Signator Investors and Signator Financial Services Inc.
