According to publicly available records, Derek Michael Johnson, a former J.P. Morgan  broker discloses a pending customer dispute.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In 12/2021, FINRA case #21-03006 was filed by a customer of J.P. Morgan Securities alleging that Johnson recommended an unsuitable investment strategy causing losses of $3 million. This case is currently pending.

Johnson was  employed by J.P. Morgan from 1/2012-6/2020. He has been employed by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney since 6/2020.
