According to publicly available records. Raul Jorge Benitez, a broker with Wells Fargo Clearing Services. discloses 3 prior customer disputes and a pending customer dispute.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In 12/2020, FINRA case #20-03932 was filed by a customer of Wells Fargo alleging unsuitable recommendations and misrepresentation in connection with an investment strategy that involved using a portfolio of securities as collateral for a loan. That case was settled for $137,500 in 1/2022.
In February of 2019, a SunTrust Investment Services customer alleged unsuitable recommendation. The case was also settled.
In July of 2021, FINRA case #21-01667 alleging that the recommendation to purchase Northstar Investment was unsuitable. The alleged damages are $218,707 and the case is currently pending.
Benitez has been employed by Wells Fargo Clearing Services since September of 2018. Before that time he was with SunTrust Advisory Services and LPL Financial.
