The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In August of 2018, FINRA case#18-02896 was filed by a Cetera Investment Services customer alleging unsuitability, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract and elder financial abuse. The case was settled for $15,000.
In 5/2020, case #20CV365230 was filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court, alleging unsuitable investments in real estate securities. This case is still pending and a damage amount is not specified.
In April of 2021, FINRA case #21-00733, was filed by a Cetera Investment Services customer alleging that Tang made unsuitable investments in real estate securities with alleged damages in excess of $5,000. The case is still pending.
Tang was with Cetera Investment Services from August of 2012 until May of 2018.
