According to publicly available records,  Robert Alvarez,  a broker with International Assets Investment Management discloses a regulatory event , a currently pending customer dispute and 2 termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In September of 2020, the State of Louisiana alleged violation of Louisiana Insurance Code using fraudulent, coercive or dishonest practices or misrepresentation in the conduct of business.   The sanction is a $500 fine levied against Alvarez individually.

In July of 2021, FINRA case #21-01728 a customer of International Assets Advisory alleges unsuitability, common law fraud, breach of contract and negligent supervision and is seeking damages of an unstated amount.   This case is currently pending.

Alvarez has been employed with International Assets Investment Management since May of 2014.   Before that he was registered with LPL Financial and American Express Financial Advisors.    He discloses s business affiliation with NOLA Financial -Wealth Management in Metairie, LA.

In May of 2013, Alvarez was discharged from LPL Financial after allegations that he did not disclose to the firm’s compliance department during the hiring process that he was currently under suspension at his previous broker-dealer.

In April of 2013, Alvarez was permitted to resign from Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. after allegations of policy violations related to completing continuing education requirements and to signature issues and failure to comply with suspension requirements.
