Thomas Stratton Investigation

September  2021 – Melbourne, FL

According to publicly attained records, Thomas Ward Stratton, a stockbroker  who was last employed by World Choice Securities,  discloses a prior regulatory matter , a prior customer dispute, a pending regulatory investigation and a termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In 8/2021, in FINRA case #2021071245401, to resolve allegations that he refused to provide information and documents requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation of his potential misuse of customer funds with respect to the sale of promissory notes related to a third party’s life insurance policy Stratton was permanently barred by FINRA from the securities industry.  The findings state that this mater originated from a tip to FINRA’s Securities helpline for seniors.

In 7/2016,  in FINRA case#16-01893, a customer of World Choice Securities alleged unsuitable management of accounts, over-concentration, margin and breach of fiduciary duty.  The case settled for $50,000 with $29,750 paid by Stratton individually.

In August of 2021 Stratton was allowed to voluntarily resign from World Choice Securities, Inc. after the firm received a FINRA Wells Notice alleging that Stratton failed to respond to requests for information timely and fully.
