According to publicly available records Alvery Anthony Bartlett, Jr. (CRD#13975), a stockbroker who is currently employed by Aegis Capital and who previously worked for Berthel, Fisher & Company Financial Services (BFCFS) disclose 3 prior and 1 currently pending customer disputes.
The Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In FINRA case #17-03515, filed in 1/2018 , a Berthel Fisher customer that they were sold unsuitable oil and gas limited partnerships and real estate investments . That case settled in 2/2020 for $450,000.
in currently pending FINRA case 20-1791 a customer of Berthel Fisher seeks unspecified damages alleging that Bartlett made a series of recommendations of high commission investments from 2009-02015 that were unsuitable and which resulted in an over concentration of these products in their portfolio. The products include United Development Funding (UDF), oil and gas investments, limited partnerships and real estate securities.
