The Department of Justice announced that Colleyville, Texas, resident David L. Spaulding, 62, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison and ordered to pay over $3.3 million in restitution following his conviction on running a wind farm scam investment.

Spaulding raised $3.7 million from 97 investors convincing them to invest in promissory notes from Wind Plus, Inc. and Baseload Energy, Inc. The funds were diverted to his personal use and used to finance his international travel and to purchase real estate.
