The Sun Sentinel reports that Thomas A. Guerriero, 39, of Hillsboro Beach, FL, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to commit mail and wire fraud and has agreed to pay $6.6 million in restitution and forfeit homes he owns on the Hillsboro Mile, Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach, FL.
Guerriero was charged with running a telemarketing and investment fraud conspiracy. He has been under investigation by the FBI and the Securities & Exchange Commission, and has been jailed since December 2015. Maximum penalty for charges is 20 years.
Telemarketing sales agents claimed the company owned $90 million worth of real estate, the Oxford City Football Club team in Texas and an online university with 10,000 students that would bring in as much as $100 million.
FINRA records indicate Guerriero was last registered with Meyers & Associates frmo 4/2009-8/2010. He was terminated from Reuven Enterprises Securities Division in 4/2008 failure to comply with company policy. Reuven Enterprises Securities Division was expelled from the securities industry in September 2014, according to FINRA records.
