Rex Securities Law is investigating broker Michael B. Stern, who until January 2016 was registered with H.J. Sims & Co.
From 2/2004-8/2013 he was registered with Newbridge Securities Corp.
According to FINRA records Stern has been named in 7 customer disputes that have been resolved.
The customer disputes have alleged various causes of action, including:
- misrepresentation
- unsuitable trading
- fraud
- negligence
- breach of fiduciary duty
- borrowing money from customer
- negligent supervision
NASD Case #01-04655, was settled for $150,000.
Currently there is one case pending against Stern, his current employer HJ Sims and his former employer Newbridge Securities, FINRA Case #15-01400. In that case the customer seeks damages of $1,000,000.
