Wade James Lawrence -Former Southwest Securities Broker-Barred from Securities Industry

UPDATE February 13, 2015– Former investors with Wade J. Lawrence should see this recent posting regarding the investigation of Wade J. Lawrence. 

November 12 , 2014-Austin, Texas

FINRA barred  Wade James Lawrence of Austin, TX on January  8, 2015, from the securities industry.  According to FINRA records, Smith was registered with Southwest Securities  from 8/2011-12/2013. Prior to that Lawrence was registered with Oppenheimer & Co. from 6/2008-7/2011.

FINRA records indicate that several former customers of Lawrence  have filed complaints against him for mismanaging their accounts. Several have already been resolved with substantial settlement payments. There are several pending claims. One claim seeks damages of $1.4 million against Lawrence’s former firm Oppenheimer & Co. Another claim seeks $2.8 million against Lawrence’s former firm Southwest Securities for breach of contract, negligence, failure to supervise and unauthorized trading.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) publishes disciplinary actions involving stockbrokers and stock brokerage firms on a monthly and quarterly basis. That site may be accessed here.
