Paul Greenwood Sentenced for WG Capital/Capital Management Fraud 150 150 Rex Securities Law

Paul Greenwood, 67, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a financial fraud that spanned a dozen years and involved over half a billion dollars.

Greenwood previously pleaded guilty to securities fraud and admitted lying and cheating charities, schools, pension funds and individuals out of hundreds of millions of dollars. Greenwood, who operated WG Trading Co. in Greenwich, Connecticut and Westridge Capital Management in Santa Barbara, CA,  bought a controlling interest in the NY Islanders in 1992. He reportedly spent a fair amount of the money on a collection of teddy bears and Stiff toys.
