Charles Shrem, Bitcoin Advocate To Plead Guilty 150 150 Rex Securities Law

According to the Wall Street Journal, Charlie Shrem will plead guilty to one criminal count related to allegations that his virtual currency exchange, Bitcoin, was part of a drug trading scheme involving the black-market site Silk Road.

Shrem was arrested in January 2014 along with Robert Faiella, and both had pleaded not guilty to running an alleged money-laundering scheme that used Bitcoin to trade drugs and other illegal items on Silk Road. Under the terms of his plea Shrem could face prison time.
