Former LPL Financial Broker, Travis Wetzel, Indicted for $1.2M Theft 150 150 Rex Securities Law

 

On May 29, 2014, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced the indictment of Travis Wetzel, age 35, on charges of illegally transferring over $1.2 million from a client’s annuity account to his personal accounts.
Wetzel worked as a stockbroker in Rockville, Maryland and according to the indictment to taking money from his client’s account and used it for his personal benefit. If convicted, Wetzel faces a maximum sentence of 20 years and $250,000 fine for wire fraud and 10 years in prison for money laundering.
According FINRA records Wetzel was registered with LPL Financial LLC from 9/2006-8/2012.
