Eric Stone Investigation

June  2023-Jacksonville, FL

According to publicly available records Eric James Stone a former broker who last worked for Fidelity Brokerage Services,  discloses a regulatory matter resulting in a permanent bar from the industry.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In 3/2023, without admitting or denying the findings, Stone consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he failed to make a complete production of documents and failed to appear for the on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA in connection with it’s investigation originating from a Form U-5 filed by his member firm.    The findings stated that stone had been discharged because of concerns related to loans he solicited and obtained from clients.   Stone did not respond by the due date, but belatedly provided a statement that included some of the information sought by the request.   As a result of these findings, Stone was permanently barred from FINRA in all capacities.

In 6/2021, Fidelity Investments discharged Stone as a result of allegations related to loans employees solicited and obtained from clients.

Stone was with Fidelity Brokerage Services from 2/2008 until 6/2021.
